Payment Method
Tableau.com accepts the following payment methods:
- Credit Cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and P-Cards. To successfully run a credit card, the following is required: Name of Credit Card Holder (as it appears on the face of the card), Billing Address (Street, City, State, Country, Postal Code), CVV2 Code (3 digit number on back of Visa, MC or 4 digit code on front of Amex), and Expiration Date.
- Checks: Only for US. Incoming checks must be legal tending documents in US Dollars with a check number, clear banking assignment, and routing instructions.
- Purchase Orders: These documents come in various forms/styles but must contain: Purchase Order Number, Purchase Order Date, Terms = Net 30, Bill To / Ship To Address, Product Itemization – Quantity, Product Description, Unit Price, Extended Total. The license/maintenance components of products must also be itemized.
- Wire Transfer/EFT: Funds may be transferred electronically via wire transfer or EFT and must be made in full.
For currencies, Tableau supports: USD, JPY, CAD, SEK, GBP, EUR, and AUD. If you wish to use a different payment method, please contact sales. Customer Portal admins can pay invoices via credit card. Only eligible renewal quotes will see an auto renew option. See details in the FAQ.

Tableau Return Policy?
Tableau offers a 30-day money-back return policy. To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition that it was received, unworn or unused, with original tags, and in its original packaging. A receipt or proof of payment is also required. If the product is undamaged and returned unused, with its included accessories and packaging along with the original receipt within 14 days of the date it was received, a refund based upon the original payment method will be offered. For any issues related to subscription refunds, support cases can be opened.
How To Open A Tableau Account?
To open an account on Tableau.com, follow these steps:
- Visit the Tableau website.
- Click on the Sign In option.
- Enter the name or address of your Tableau server, then click Connect.
- Enter your username and password, then click Sign In.
- If you have access to multiple sites, select the one you want to use. You can also enter the name of the site and search for it.
- On the Tableau Server landing page, select the sign-in option that applies to you, enter your username and password, then click Sign In.
For Tableau Cloud:
- In Tableau Desktop, select Server > Sign In.
- Click Tableau Cloud in the bottom left corner.
- If your site is set up to use Tableau authentication, enter your username (email address) and password you use for Tableau Cloud, then click Sign In.
- If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled with Tableau authentication, you are prompted to verify your identity using the verification you selected during the MFA registration process.
- After verifying your identity, you are redirected to your site.
Remember, if you are signing in to Tableau Cloud or registering for MFA for the first time, you must be running Tableau Desktop 2021.1 and later to use MFA with Tableau authentication. If you have access to multiple sites, select the one you want to use.
